EVENTS

ONGOING  EVENTS:

Lenten Program—Tim Keller’s The Reason for God will be our 2018 Lenten program for the Thursday’s in Lent. The program is based on Tim Keller’s New York Times best-selling book by the same title, and covers some of the frequently voiced “doubts” about God and Christianity. The first session will be on February 15 and is titled “Isn't the Bible a Myth? Hasn't Science Disproved Christianity?” It follows the same pattern as our previous programs: dinner at 6:00, program at 6:30, and small group discussion at 7:00. We’ll finish at 7:30. Bring a friend!

Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday—Our Shrove Tuesday service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13th. On February 14th, Ash Wednesday we will have our Ash Wednesday services at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Hurricane Harvey Mission Trip—
We are looking at forming a small team to go on a mission trip to Houston from March 12-16. The trip will be coordinated by Led2Serve and St. John the Divine, and has an estimated cost of $698 per person (not including food). We'll be performing light-duty tasks, such as packing backpacks filled with food, and shuttling people to medical appointments. If you're interested, please contact Fr. Nick.

Quilting Bees—At the last Vestry meeting of St. James, approval was given for use of the Parish Hall for a weekly Quilting/Sewing group.  Jennifer Terrazas and Lynn Marshall will be hosting the group and would like to invite parishioners to join them on Thursdays from 10a.m.-4:00 p.m. for fellowship and sewing.  Bring your sewing machine and a project, we will provide cutting mats, rotary cutters, ironing board and iron.  We also suggest a brown bag lunch, so we don't miss a minute of sewing.  If you are interested in learning to quilt, please join us, we will happily share all we have learned.  Come and enjoy working together! Please RSVP to Jennifer or Lynn so we know how many tables to set up. You may reach Lynn at 575 644-4902 or Jennifer at 575 993-0498. Thank you.
