Our 2017 Scripture Motto:
"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, and of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. " Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV)

Kid's Sunday School & Nursery Ministries

At St. James we value every person who comes to worship God,

even the littlest worshipers among us. That is why we have a dedicated

team of adult members who have not only completed thorough Federal

background checks, but also complete annual Diocesan training in the

areas specific to children's ministries and safety issues.

Additionally, they complete annual training on emergency procedures

and curriculum delivery.

Our kid's ministry facilities are clean, safe, colorful, and full of fun

things to do for ages 2 months to 10 years old. They are located

in the courtyard area of our facility and surround a fun little

grass-covered, shaded playground with new rubber mulch for

extra bounce under the swings and slide.

In the nursery area, for age 0 to 3 year-olds, we have lots

of soft places to crawl and play with blocks, puzzles,

figures, and biblical story toys such as Noah's Ark.

In the Sunday School area we begin with a simplified

version of the same liturgy being said in the main

church, complete with the collect for the day. We

tell a Bible story to coincide with the readings,

sometimes using felt boards or dramatic readings

to enhance the experience, and then complete an

art activity to facilitate discussion around the topics

of the biblical story or characters.  We close with

prayer and return to the main church in time to

receive communion with our parish family.

Kid's Ministry is open at 10:15am on Sundays and begins at 10:30am; we return to the main worship service around 11:15-11:20am.
